"Can you make me something...portable? Alot of these tickets need me to be on the move." You ask. Gloria nods.
"Meet me back here in about 20. I'll have something for you." She says before heading back to her shop just as a customer walks in to register for a station.
"Full dive or conventional? And I'll need your ID, please." You ask as you reach out to take the customer's card.
---
"So...it's a hot pocket?" You ask as you pick up the half circle shaped food and take a bite. Gloria squints and glares at you.
"It is not a hot pocket. One, they're called turnovers and are made from pastry bread. Two, this is made masa which is what tortillas are made from and finally, that's fried. You don't fry a hot pocket." She huffs. You take another bite. Whatever it was, it was really good. Stuffed with shrimp, grilled onion, tomato and some kind of herb, it was quite savory. "Normally, I'd give you some salsa and cabbage for you to use as toppings but you wanted portable so there you are." She says proudly.
"It's really good. This is supposed to have salsa?" You ask, mouth partially full. "Like green sauce?" Gloria gives you the look again and you're starting to wonder if you had a knack at pushing your coworker's buttons. A natural taunt skill as it were. She opens her mouth and then sighs.
"It can be I guess but normally it's tomato and oregano. Or it can be blended toasted peppers and some water." She says. "Depends on what flavor you want. But it probably wouldn't play nice if you got salsa on the PCs." You grab another empanada and stand.
"Whatever it is and whatever you're supposed to put on it, it's really good. Thanks Gloria. Walk with me?" You offer. "A PC might be having memory issues and I gotta look at it."
"Sure, let me just..." She leans over your table and pushes the intercom button. "Attention Oasis customers, the café will be closed for an hour. I need to take my break." Her voice rings throughout the net café and you see everyone shrug before going back to their usual business. It wasn't unusual for Gloria to be heard over the speaker as she often announced the closing of her shop or any special items on the menu. Roland often used it for in house tournaments or to call you when something went down and you were in some other part of the shop. You're not sure if it was him who installed it or it the system was already here when the place was bought. You assume it's the latter given that Oasis had it's own app for ordering food and being told it was ready as well as being alerted when a station you asked for was ready.
