They would get on the trains with all their belongings because they told them they were going to resettle the Jews somewhere in the east. They probably believed they were going receive free land like the communists promised. At Treblinka they got off the train and were told to go into the forest until they reached a big wall with a sign that said "hospital" to be medically looked at, when they crossed the wall they were shot in the head and dumped in a pit. So there is some truth to that meme.
