I was thinking the shape may be there to throw you off, as you wouldn't hear a physical ring, but you would hear the ring of a phone call. Besides that, the Prophecy doesn't seem to include anything about the Snowgrave path (I think). You could be right of course, and we'll just have to see, but I think there's a compelling case for the notion that there is a connection between the Angel and Gaster
