Born and raised in the alpine valleys goliaths call home, Bierdna grew tall and strong as her people do, hardened and kept healthy by the icy cold and bracing air. In her tribe, armor and clothing was kept to a minimum to demonstrate the physical strength and famous constitution of their kind, and she proudly walked the lodge of her family and halls of her tribe in rarely more than a fur bikini and matching boots. She spent her teenage years climbing cliffs, hunting in the snowy woods, wrestling snow leopards, bathing in ice'covered lakes and fleeing wolves. During winter, frost giants sometimes came from their icy halls to seize goliaths as slaves. One winter when most of the warriors were away fightinga white dragon, Bierdna saw a frost giant creeping towards the village. Quickly donning her skimpiest clothing she came to the walls and invited the giant to her lodge (an abandoned hall) with much fluttering of eyelashes and strategic heaving of her bosom.

Amused, the giant agreed, and she plied him with barrels of mead, secretly laced with stronger alcohol. The frost giant fell asleep, and woke to the building burning around him.

He barely broke out, and was faced with Bierdna leading the village warriors to finish him off.

Bierdna was hailed for her quick thinking, and taught to be a baresark: one of the bear-shifting watchers of her peoples borders.

During her time as a baresark she drove off packs of wolves, hungry bears, dimwitted giants, raiders, and a few goblins. Her armor was claimed from a human barrow, most couldn't fit her, being designed for a man, but a craftsman of her tribe reworked as much of it as he could to fit her. Her sword is an heirloom her father Bjorn once wielded, it deals 2d12 damage, but is too heavy to be swung more than once an action, or even lifted by most races. She will only let a worthy goliath of her tribe wield it, (Datsko counts). (Cont 2/?)
