It's a difficult feeling to fight. There's a reason that envy is one of the seven deadly sins, and I believe that today it's one of the most dangerous ones because of how socially encouraged it is. Sometimes it feels like even movies, shows, and other forms of media will push the narrative of "rich people bad". It's insane how easy it is to have feelings of envy sneak up on you without even realizing it. Once you learn to look for it, you see it everywhere.
Guy has a nice car? Fucking prick, he's wasting his money on something he doesn't need. Hot wife? She's probably just a gold digger or cheats on him. Lots of money? He's an asshole who takes advantage of others and is out of touch. Strong fighter? I could just shoot him dead.
The list goes on and on, and while these explanations may be true in some cases, I feel like so often I see people give in to having malicious reactions to seeing those who are more fortunate or successful.
