I also cannot explain European insanity other than to blame it on hubris against the "poor dumb russoids". But it would be a hubris based on ignorance given that slavic troops were present in Paris (Napoleon) and gave us the world-known term "Bistro". Then decades later Slavs were in Berlin (Austrian vegetarian and painter) and split the country for decades to come.
This is why I detest people who mock their enemies as weak and I'm worried about those who are patient. Power has to be projected all the time. Weakness only once.
