The god ki was turned into normal ki because everyone else can sense him again. It wasn't headcanon as it's directly shown to be true by the show (Goku fighting better against Beerus than as a SSG). It was never stated he shouldn't be able to use god again.

Yes unironically this. Not even headcanon this has been a thing since Toriyama'a manga. In Base the eyes are round for Goku and Gohan while in SS the eyes are rectangular (except for Grade 4 during the Cell Arc to show how different it is). The same thing applies to Ultimate. Round eyes for base and rectangular for Ultimate.
