Hello, this is Kang In-seok, a reporter from The Games Daily. Ahead of the summer update for Horizon Walker, I conducted an interview with Producer Seo Yoon-seok from GentleManiac. Due to limitations on article length and company policies, some details couldn’t be included in the official article, so I’m sharing them here as vividly as possible.
>Summer is a particularly important period for subculture games. What is Horizon Walker preparing?
Producer Seo: To celebrate summer, we’re preparing a large-scale swimsuit event. Beyond a simple swimsuit event, we plan to feature a collaboration character as the main focus this time. Since our game allows for slightly more mature expressions, we’re collaborating with a Japanese doujin artist who specializes in such themes. I can’t reveal the artist’s name yet, but I’ll show you the character concept art first.
We’re also preparing an event centered around the character created through this collaboration with the doujin artist. The event will run for about a month and a half. It starts with a two-week pre-event, followed by a month-long main event. Additionally, you’ll be able to see swimsuit skins for various characters.
>Given that Horizon Walker characters are already scantily clad, swimsuit skins might not feel particularly exciting. Is there anything specific you want to emphasize with the swimsuit skins?
Producer Seo: We believe the seasonal atmosphere and showcasing different aspects of these characters are key. When creating characters, we don’t focus solely on explicit appeal but rather on specific fetishistic elements. We think people’s desires and preferences in this area are highly diverse. So, we’re preparing to fulfill the varied imaginations that users associate with keywords like summer, the beach, and swimsuits.
