The reason it's 4v4 and has a weeb aesthetic is because MvC4 is real and ArcSys found out mid-development. They went "oh shit our game might be too similar" which is why they took steps to make it more distinct from MvC. Marvel doesnt care if they have two competing games they just give out the license to third parties as long as they pay, they had two Black Panther games in development at different studios as well.
