In FF6 I want to make the entire story customizable based on the pairings you chose in FF7. So at the beginning you can choose certain character's parents and sometimes if they're alive, and show up in the game. Like if Fiora is Roy's mother, Farina can show up in Chapter 1 to help out, give him an Auntie talk and then leave until chapter 8 when its time to save Lilina.
That's just one example but a ton of flavor fanservice shit can be added with this kind of change.
