In terms of gameplay it's still just Pokemon, but with a focus on doubles. The only things it really lifts from EO are the Etrian variant designs, the general flow of a big dungeon divided into Stratums of different environments, and the concept of FOEs, monsters stronger than average for their area that are visible on the map and chase you. I say the 'concept' because I don't like how they're implemented here, rather than chasing you around when they spot you and only engaging you in battle when they catch you, they just engage you instantly like a trainer when you cross their line of sight. I guess it's a limitation of what they could do but it's still a letdown because a lot of the time in EO games you have to figure out how to maneuver around them and sometimes even have to bait them out by letting them chase you, then maneuver around them that way, and none of that is present in this hack.

It's still a fun time so far, but it's much, much more Pokemon than EO. And some of the writing is pretty cringe, especially in the sidequests (there's a early sidequest literally called 'The Cake is a Lie' or something similar)
