Davidians in Waco did religious cult affiliation. It was mostly white with the occasional black or spic. Still got massacred over an illegal gun and some little known building code violation. Could have been sorted out with paying a fine and charging the one owner of the illegal gun. They weren't given much of a chance and were initially frightened by government response and locked themselves in the compound. By the time they calmed down and ready to talk, the government responded with more aggression so they just went back in. Even the government admits the ATF overreacted with excessive force.
