That's it. I'm sick of all this "Vintage Anti-material Rifle" bullshit that's going on in the We are Weapons system right now. Jaegers deserve much better than that. Much, much better than that.
I should know what I'm talking about. I myself commissioned a genuine Jaeger-pattern gauss rifle in Moscow for 160,000 Rubles (that's about 300 Sardis Gold for you Rossartrists) and have been practicing with it for almost 2 years now. I can even reduce Paradeus shields with my rifle.
Lyco spent years working on a single rifle and printed it up to a million times to produce the finest guns known to dollkind.
Jaegers are thrice as accurate as Svarog dolls and thrice as tough for that matter too. Anything a Cyclops can shoot, a Jaeger can shoot through better. I'm pretty sure a SWAP Jager could easily defeat an Assault Artillery unit under a fully powered shield generator with a simple shot to its cockpit.
Ever wonder why KCCO left fighting Sangvis Ferri to the PMCs? That's right, they were too scared to fight the disciplined Jagers and their rifles of destruction. Even in World War III, European troops targeted the Jaegers first because their killing power was feared and respected.
So what am I saying? Gauss rifles are simply the best gun that the setting has ever seen, and thus, require better stats in the WaW system. Here is the stat block I propose for Jaeger rifles:
Jaeger-pattern Gauss rifle
Cost: 5 Magazine: 10 Restrictions: SF Background
Burden: 5
Damage Rating: 20+2d10
- Shredding Strike: Reduce Critical Threshold by 3, inflicting Critical Damage on a 7+
- Energy Weapon: This weapon ignores all Armor besides the Absolute DR of high-level ELIDs.
- Set-up Required I: After relocating with this weapon, the wielder must spend a Simple Action bracing or deploying the bipod.
Now that seems a lot more representative of the firepower of Jaegers in real life, don't you think?
tl;dr = Jaegers need to do more damage in WaW, see my new stat block.
