Don't need to. I have watched full playthroughs. My account has four full game playthroughs (12+12+12+12) two full DLC playthroughs (48+10+10) one half DLC playthrough since I had to go back and restart the DLC after a break (68+5) and the rest of it was achievement hunts for both base game and dlc, with a bit of fucking with the physics and playing with the nomai shuttle. As for my friends, one accidentally flew to the DLC and played around for an hour before realizing it and stopping, and the other only played half of the dlc (5 hours). It does not take 25 full hours.
>Can you read??
Do you even know what you're saying? You told me that you see 95% of everything in 1-2 hours. You then elaborated to say that everything is literally everything in the ship log. That would imply that you have read 95% of the dialog in the game in 1-2 hours. If this were true (it isnt) you could beat the game in the next 30-60 minutes. It does not take 23 hours to piece together how to get to that last 5%.
>Tons of bullshit in the game is time gated. Sand falling, sand rising, brittle hollow crumbling, interloper passing sun, Giant's Deep islands rising, etc.
Yes, the galaxy is alive, and it doesnt take long to realize exactly how each of those individual things work. You can even sit at a campfire if you need to wait until a certain time. Most of the time all you have to do is show up at the beginning of the loop.
>Not to mention there are tons of long routes with multiple branches that you are trying to thoroughly explore while you have very limited time
Only the sunless city.
>it's extremely fucking tedious, especially since you aren't even sure if there is anything else there, or if you can solve the puzzle at the time
It's pretty obvious when you're too late and ET is full of sand or BH has fallen apart.
>all to amount to... just another fucking bit of flavor text
Again: everything leads to something else or explains something.
