If you don't have the time, money or inclination to read Spengler I suggest Fate of Empires and the Search for Survival by Sir John Glubb. It's only about 60 pages

I made it my aim for New Year 2024 to read the whole list. Apart from a few books I left out because they weren't online or were too expensive to buy I succeeded in my objective.
I recommend doing something like this it gets you surprisingly focused
