Such an upright, half-grounded stance would normally invitate you to it's legs, but a single-leg takedown cannot be effectively capitalized on a creature with wings.
Even if you dominate one leg, you can't just drive the foe at will or drop it as usual, since it has large wings that can perhaps lift both of you into the air at once.
