I disagree - you wear gloves, gown and a face mask to isolate yourself from it, and you tend to get to give patients some invasive treatment with the drill if they have poor hygiene.

I'd say it's one of the most dominant professions, almost on par with police officers. Particularly military dentists, who get to tell their pateints to submit to whatever they prescribe.
