What kind of game would work better for Lovecraftian themes?
You can only lean on the horror, in which case you're doing a spooky monster game, like what we've gotten so far (Shadow over Insmouth).
Lovecraftianism doesn't work as anything else, at least not as the primary theme.
Or you can lean on the unknown and discovering disturbing secrets, in which case you have a walking simulator (Mountains of Madness).
