Doesn't the concept of purgatory and therefore original sin essentially negate the sacrifice of Christ? What did he die for if not for the sins of manking?
Not only is the concept of purgatory entirely absent from the bible but it also seems to directly contradict its existence, what's up with that?
I get that baptism was practiced prior to Augustine but not for the same reason as the Catholics
