"Yeah, a little. That telegram made us scramble around for a bit." You nearly chuckled at the memory of Ayane slowly realizing that this letter was given hours ago.

"You've a habit of making an old man wait, you know? Then again, we kitsune are notorious for our patience. Really, it's an excuse for us to act at a snail's pace, so I suppose you have nothing to worry about." He didn't have any reservations about chuckling. "I have to give it to you, John, the letters you and my daughter sent were able to snap us out of our stupor." He glanced out the window. "But that still doesn't answer my question."

"It's about the meeting." What else could it of been of?

"Hmm." He turned back to you with an eyebrow raised, then shrugged. "That's partially the reason, yes."

"Then it's also about family?"

"Indeed." He sighs. "More specifically, it is about my wife."
