Rome 1 actually let you take over the enemy's towers and vice-versa, a feature which M2 removed for no discernible reason. I don't think anyone has ever argued that Attila or 3K had good sieges given that they also suffer from stupid pathfinding (though I did like the maps themselves in those games). Haven't played Shogun or Medieval 1, but I do think Shogun 2 had the best sieges because (despite the maps having stupid collision meshes, something that EVERY game had because CA manage to be consistent in being retarded) units could just climb over walls and burn down gates and stuff so the usual nonsense doesn't happen (as often).
