"Here is where you can sign up for the schools. You will need to take a test, however, if you wish to attend as either a student or a teacher. In your circumstances, if you choose the latter, you would only be allowed to teach part-time or as a substitute." Todred said, small bits of an accent seeping out in his words.
"There is also a fee you must pay for any classes you take." The receptionist at the table added. She handed you some papers with a wink. "You can also have your wives attend here. So there's no need to separate!"
"What's the price?" You asked.
She smiled. "Around 2,000 gold coins." That didn't seem too bad. "For the initial entrance exam to be given. A weekly fee of 5,000g must be payed if you attend. If you want to bring your wives with you, then it costs 5,000g every week for each slave-wife. Additionally, we have some dorms for you to sleep with your wives in- well, had some dorms, since they're all booked in as of now."
The cost of things made you frown...
(You currently have 9910g)
>But you still weren't dissuaded. You wanted to enroll someone. (Who? This person will likely not be available for long) (Ayane won't be able to attend due to it conflicting with her schedule of babysitting Ryko, Shizuku, and Ichirou)
>Yet you would consider these options for the future. You were planning to make bank with the aluminum, and would likely have a house in Centria.
>And you thought it wasn't worth pursing this. Not only for the cost, but the logistics of being in Centria as well.
>(Write-in)
"Goodness." Ayane said with a frown. "Has it always cost this much?"
"It used to be much worse." Todred said. "Making it this affordable was a struggle."
"It's a wonder this place has many students." Ruby mused. "I imagine it would increase the prestige quite dramatically."
"In Centria," Todred continued, "Anyone can make money if one knows what one is doing."
"Fortune is always a factor." Ayane nodded her head.
"Feels like nobles would be the ones that benefit the most from higher prices." Mel observed.
"That is not negative arrangement. Everyone involved will be better off." Gerty said, likely thinking about how Westphalia tended to favor the nobility in most things.
"Are there any other schools in Centria?" Cattleya meowed.
"Not that I'm aware of." Todred said. "There are, however, many tutors in this city. I could give you some recommendations after the tour, if you wish."
"That would be appreciated." You said.
"Hey, Master," Herta pulled you to the side and spoke in what you were pretty sure was supposed to be a whisper, "I bet there's some actual schools somewhere in Centria. I remember priests and monks and priestesses and nuns usually acted as teachers in schools in some of the other worlds, and there's no reason it wouldn't of happened here. Especially with a nerd like Artemia being one of the main four deities."
"I'll keep that in mind." You told her, giving her butt an appreciative squeeze.
