Gaddafi was a selfish tyrant who lived in extreme luxury while his countrymen lived in extreme poverty.

Shia Marjas intentionally follow the Sunnah of asceticism because the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) shunned luxury to serve his people.

He even shared his meals with the poorest and homeless followers of Islam. This is why Ruhollah Khomeini sat on the floor. This is why Shia Marjas live in simple homes without any servants.
