One person has been killed and at least ten others injured in a widespread overnight Russian drone attack on the Dnipropetrovsk region, Ukrainian officials have said.
The regional capital, Dnipro, bore the brunt of the attack on Thursday morning. The head of the regional military administration, Serhiy Lysak, confirmed that one person was killed in the city. Another five people were injured in Dnipro; four men were hospitalized, three of them in serious condition, while a fifth person was treated at home.
The strikes caused several fires and damaged industrial enterprises in the city.
Elsewhere in the region, another five people were injured in attacks on the Nikopol district, which was shelled with "Grad" rocket systems and FPV drones. The wounded included a 58-year-old woman and three men who were hospitalized in moderate condition, while a 21-year-old man will be treated as an outpatient.
Ukraine's Air Force said its air defenses shot down 22 of the 64 drones Russia launched overnight, with the main target being the Dnipropetrovsk region.
