This is the result of about a week of farting around with using VACE to splice gens together and make loops. I purposely picked 3 of the jankiest dang gens I had to see how it would do, and honestly I'm pretty impressed.
There's no way my PC can handle this length of video in one shot. To get around this the worflow grabs a number of frames (that I set) from the first and last video to work with, so I'm only VACE'ing max 25 frames at a time, and then it interpolates the VACE results together with the source vids. Loops work similarly, but obviously it's just looking back at the start of the vid for context.
As is, my workflows are set up so I can just plop gens in there and don't have to fart around making masks. It's done automatically for me by the workflow - lemme tell ya, that was a bitch, but worth the effort.
I set it up so I can specify length to generate between vids, depending on how far it's got to reach to get things put together.
Hope this inspires some of you. Longer gens are the holy grail at the moment, and I think VACE can help us fake it.
My next step is to see if I can feed the result back in with a reference image to smooth out obvious color shifts and facial distortions. This may be asking too much of my equipment, though.
