Well yeah, the art director (Waterkuma, pic related) was only a temp hire and once he was gone they had no-one to keep them on course. So they just gave up and said 'china time'.
I tried 2.0 a tiny bit, their 'replacement' for the TV mode is a single large map and they decided what that *really* needed was making you run around gathering resources with a daily max cap for a side-crafting system to redecorate the temple you have no reason to give a shit about just to get maybe 3 pulls worth of currency when you max it all after weeks of waiting on timers
They should have taken the TV mode in an Etrian Odyssey direction or something imo
