Skullgirls has many inspirations, Darkstalkers and late 90s/early 2000s Toonami being among them.
Actually, can I ask you burger bros to maybe frame this for me? Since I'm a freedom-forsaken Canadian I was wondering if you guys all watched Toonami when you were younger (like around 1996-2004) and you could maybe tell me what it was like? Do you guys see the influences in Skullgirls? Both from Toonami and torrented Japan-only anime from that period? Like the stuff that's very obvious to me is Robo-Fortune being an obvious knockoff of Robo-Ky from Guilty Gear.
