In 1990, a documentary titled "Child of Rage" was broadcast by HBO as part of its "America Undercover" series. This disturbing documentary reveals how a six-year-old girl, Beth Thomas, tortured animals and sexually abused her little brother, Jonathan. It is a compilation of video recordings that Dr. Ken Magid, a clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of severely abused children, made during therapy sessions with little Beth. These children have been so traumatized in their first months or years of life that they do not develop any bonds with other children or adults. These are children who cannot love or accept love. They are not even aware that they can hurt or even kill (without remorse).
