This is such a subtle point and it's no wonder autists miss things like this or don't understand.

He didn't try to intimidate her, use force or violate any boundaries.
He essentially just boasted that he could and this frightened her.
I'm not saying anyone is "right/wrong" here but you have to be very alert to how your partner is feeling and how your actions make them feel.
The inability of autists to pick up on/send the right social signals (Literally an ASD diagnostic criteria) is always met with complaints of "I'm not being a mind reader.".
They have a social blind spot so they can't conceive there was something obvious they might have missed.
