That would've been the smart thing but there has been a cross media fad going around. It was in response to being too late to realize how popular something was but putting the toys into production too late to capitalize on it. Like making appetizers ahead of time in case you get a crowd that wants the full course. It was always a gamble and had a high chance of failure because if it isn't good, the rest will suffer for its failure. Farmagia had an anime and game tie-in and I don't think that did particularly well even if it had character designs by that Fairy Tail mangaka.
