I've said this before and I will say it again: it may appear minor, but the fact that Wanderer doesn't have a proper in game name is a huge part of this. The only mentions he'll get are unserious "hat guy" quotes. Imagine being in the war against the abyss and instead of calling Mavuika you say "oh no bike lady will sacrifice herself!"... There's zero weight to such a nickname.
I'd rather have Hoyo give him a proper name than allowing the players to choose themselves, as that would mean voiced dialogue would use said name. For whatever reason, "Wanderer" was just a placeholder rather than being the voice-acted name, such as the MC's "Traveler".
