how does cartethiya's c1 work?

I transform to fleur, and i build up the gauge at the bottom, it's full now, but her crit damage doesn't go up.
Why?
i did the three swords as cartethiya, charged, attack, basic 4, skill, and then did a plunge and then transformed but nothing is happening.

please help
