they say 'dyakuyu' for thanks which is from Polish 'dzienkuje', Russians don't know what it means (they say 'spasiba) but anyone who has met a Pole would know it. the root of it comes from Germanic 'danken'. they also say 'yo' йo meaning 'yes' which is from hungarian 'jo'.

their traditional clothing is from the Carpathian mountains which in the west we would call Bavarian, alpine. this only really applies west of the Dnieper river though, the eastern part is Russian. Kyiv is on the Dnieper too.
