Well.. the "alien invasion" theory coming around these times was started by Phil Schneider (I think) and he definitely wasn't the only one.
I absolutely want to believe that it is just bs, but Phil Schneider died in a VERY mysterious way shortly after saying that which gives him some street cred.
On ufology, actual whistleblowers get killed or persecuted. Desinfo agents and glowies starting the soft disclosure gets audiences on the congress.
Idk if I should recommend you to dwell on the UFO/NHI topic, because it will not only change you, you also will live in a world of blind people.
