Manga. Haven't read the novels. Before you call me out as some schizo though, here is one example of a page that didn't get adapted. I've posted some other examples in the past. I'm not sure how I feel about them rushing through 80% of what the manga has adapted in one season. I feel like the anime could end perfectly well at the end of Satsuki's arc. If they adapt Ajisai's arc as well, it will be super cramped.
