it's crazy how once you experience a seamless open world MMO, XIV just feels so boxed off and tiny. If you look at limsa and uldah and the housing zones as various "lobbies," where people wait until they can queue into content, the game honestly feels a bit more like a lobby game than an mmo. I'm not sure how they can even fix the overworld problem. The instances aren't even the root cause; it's that once you finish the msq in that area, there aren't a lot of reasons to go back.

look at the staff that worked on it. the lead writer wasn't the lady responsible for writing all that kino people gush about. it was some b-lister who'd never even written a .0 expansion story before. when i said let them cook, i meant bring their noteworthy team members back from their other projects and let them produce an actual banger with people who know what they're doing.
