...Take last nights stories, his version of "Cornpop" and getting called on it here. It works something like this; you will note there is a pattern:
1. Methy is confronted with an unpleasant reality. Maybe its something someone said, or something he remembered himself.
2. This causes a stress spike and he needs a distraction. So far, much like the pathological liar.
3. He imagines the alternative, some grandiose over-correction. For example, being afraid of walking miles through gangland, so he literally frames talking to street mariachi musicians as some courageous confrontation.
4. Finally, satisfied with this interpretation, this becomes his new reality. Its not that he is too poor for a car and afraid of gangbangers, its that he uses apps to watch the GPS.
And thats how you get a compulsive liar. Someone who finally gets two posts of attention and goes from claiming that getting no attention was a meltdown, to this being a meltdown. Whatever suits his interpretation becomes the reality.
Although my favorite narrative remains that he is a man not some deeply closeted bottom that hates gays and trans which, for reasons I wont presently speculate, seem closely linked in his mind to his siblings in childhood.
