Agreed. GS in Year One does try to learn something from each of the companions he's had so far. But it's pretty hard to deny she stands out from the others. And the fact that he was(and still is) mourning for her across multiple chapters now is a stark contrast to when he's been shown to be a solemn guy that moves on from deaths pretty quick. It really shows how much of an influence she had on him.
