This is the post I wish I had seen before Mare Fair 2. My first con ended up being a disaster for me, a waste of time and money, all because I spent the whole weekend mentally filtering everything I did to avoid looking too autistic. Even the autists I did meet seemed more well-adjusted than I was. Ironically few things are more autistic than the guy that stands in a corner and says nothing to others because he's afraid of looking retarded. I realized this after Mare Fair and spent a lot of time thinking about what I did wrong, and the conclusion I arrived at was basically your post, I just didn't accept it until now. Thanks, anon. I'll try not to blow it this year. Out of all the garbage I see on this board, it's posts like these that give me something to reflect on. Sometimes those posts are exactly what I needed to hear.
