I use plaintext prose, written so that each line conveys a specific detail to the AI about the character. General details like appearance go at the top, specific things to remember go at the bottom. I mix instructions to the AI about how to play the character in with sentences describing the character (RIP Hochi)
I do it like this because I believe it gives the AI some human-written prose to emulate, i.e.
>A facial scar earned during her prizefighting days crosses her left eye.
is preferred to
>She has a scar over her left eye
or
>[Features: scarred face, Job: prizefighter]
As for why? Old AI Dungeon promptwriting habits, and because formatfaggotry is retarded.
