I've been playing it a lot recently. the only "floodgate" I've ran into is this card called "Budew" which makes it so when you get hit you cant use items for a turn. Card is super easy to get rid of though so it really only cucks you out of a few turns at best.

the number one strat I've seen (this could just be because im playing casual formats or something) has been Dragpult EX which is this generic beatstick that deals extra damage to your backrow. the pokemon smacking up your frontline also fucks up your backline which lets them take out weenie pokes youve got lying around if you arent careful. ALSO theres a Charizard card that basically comes out swinging too and some monke card that heals/damages.

outside of Budew I havent been floodgated. its just those 300HP+ ex pokemon can be pretty strong if you arent packing similar firepower.

Yugioh Flodogates are way worse imo because in yugioh floodgates actually lock you out of taking BASIC game actions completely and utterly for a indefinite amount of time with no out as opposed to simply stalling for a turn or two. shit like Macro Cosmo's, Ryu-Shin,TCOBO and Skill Drain be legal autowins on flip is the most deranged fucking "why is this allowed" moment for me to this very day and fuck me though Floodgates arent even the problem. its the STALE as fuck overpowered card design that retroactively is working its way through classic archtypes and poisoning them to make this great SLOPPA anti-fun anti-casual soulless profit first impossible to get into non-game. I dont play MD unless there is a event going on that bans out every single relevant card pretty much and forces petdecks hobo fights.
