Famine's behavior is too inconsistent to even consider her an actual character.

And she spent one of those just to carry Denji away from that place.
She did that because she though she'd be completely fine with slaughtering the humans once Denji was out of the picture.
And that's not what happened at all, she even spells out that realization herself.

Nayuta died because she couldn't act like a devil due to the live she had with Denji, in direct contrast with Yoru's behavior.
Thinking otherwise just means you didn't understand anything about the story being told so far.
