I had something different in mind. What you posted is in good faith but it doesn't begin to match the grandiosity of the GK.
In my mind i'm thinking something along the lines of pre 9-11 America but stacked vertically so that the towers reach into heights where oxygen levels are extremely low induce a dreamlike state.
