>Unsent Letter
Someone once told me that on the battlefield, soldiers are like livestock — dying without meaning.
He may have been right. He won't be speaking to me again.
After everything I've been through, I've gradually stopped fearing the sounds of gunfire and artillery.
Other than my rations barely filling my stomach, and the replacements falling short of the fallen, there's little left that troubles me.
But don't worry. I'm one of the lucky ones — still alive. I promise I'll return. I'll be by your side again, kiss your cheek, say those words to you, and stay with you, always.
As I write this letter, I'm waiting for the order to charge.
Like I said, I'm not afraid.
I'll hold on, pray for me. Lia
