Execs are unimaginative cowards so it would never happen, But I think they should have done a Beyond(verse) DCU. It just naturally removes comparisons from other DC properties by sake of being in the future and having understandably different heroes or heroes at vastly different points in their life. Plus the built in sci-fi of a future setting.
