For games you got two options, though really just one in the long run.
Kemono Friends Kingdom ins in English and I think can run on emulators easily enough, however it's basically a zombie of a game with no updates or new content.
Kemono Friends 3 (the game where the models come from) however is reasonably supported even now, however it's JP only as well as if you want to play on PC through the DMM launcher you'll need a VPN to log in, but not to actually play thankfully enough.
If you can put up with those roadblocks it's a nice little time waster since I've not found it to be a gacha that requires you to have the latest and greatest characters at all times and just fun to watch the Friends mill about.
As for worth it for someone new to everything, I'd say the roughest part is just because it's all Japanese none of the world or characters will mean much of anything.
So not the best of options alas, but options at least.
