One of China’s most lasting cultural attractions contributions as a civilization has been its beautiful landscape paintings, influenced by the ethos of Taoism… one of these ideas is the indescribable majesty of nature over men, whose actions are regulated by the flow of yin and yang through nature and the wider cosmos. It saddens me how the Chinese government mangles its beautiful landscape like this, and desecrates its traditional sacred mountains like Yellow Mountain by turning them into kitschy copypaste Disneylands with shitty little gift shops and wide paved roads.
