The damage was already done, The entire End of History was the West deluding themselves into believing all the money poured into Third World regimes would ensure they turned into lite copies of them, instead what they managed was to give these regimes the resources to push their own agendas while ignoring such moves deprived their own western populations of social mobility and economic opportunities, just look at this place or reddit, millions of peoples who were sacrificed so China, India, Russia and so many other countries could become westernized.
It failed miserably because neoliberalism, a bastard child of the worst aspects of marxism and capitalism, was suicidal, an extinction of the soul and parenthood, now all there is left is a long war to attempt to salvage all that is left.
