Special note was put by the presentation of how kitsune species, according to myth, once originated from nine-tailed foxes, given life and human form by the gods due to a their designs. Eventually, the original fox-like form of the kitsune was lost to history as they took human form.

The myth was dismissed, however. The conclusion wasn't that kitsune were actually a type of beastfolk, but demi-humans. This was due to kitsune having such great magical affinity and inherent magic that was special to their species, much like the tanuki. As well as the fact that kitsune tend to act like humans in most matters, the only differences being cultural and not species-wide.

Hybrids in kitsune society weren't as common as catgirl hybrids, but it wasn't something unheard of. From what they, kitsune children acted more like human children, thus giving credence to the theory of kitsune being demi-humans.

After the lecture was over you asked your wives what they all thought of it.

"It was a bit of a mess." Mel said. "But it was effective enough to tell some basic stuff and share their findings." Most of your wives tended to more or less agree with Mel's statement.

"They used tons of big words and they, like, kept on talking for waaay too long." Bertha yawned. "I felt like I was gonna fall asleep."

"Commodore Percy's actions are to be commended." Gerty said. "The bravery of his entire expedition is rightly becoming a part of the history books."

"More like a thing of notoriety." Ruby Rose countered.

"Westphalia shall always have enemies so long as people have envy." Gerty concluded.

"While I appreciate you letting me come with you, Master," Your kitsune calmly began, "I must disagree with the conclusions of Commodore Percy."

"In what way?" You asked, curious.

"Kitsune are beastfolk." Ayane explained. "In many ways we act like foxes: We have animal instincts, mating seasons, and heightened senses. These are mostly not seen due to our values of not letting baser instincts dictate our actions, and our dedication to keeping ourselves calm in times of crises. Not only that, the origin story of kitsune that was spoken of here is only held by a few fox clans. Most kitsune tend to believe that we were created in the same form we are now in, and that that so-called 'fox form' is an illusion only the Tenko and the most powerful of kitsune can hold. While it is true to kitsune kits tend to behave like human children, most kits act like foxes before they speak their first words, and distinctly cry out like foxes instead of humans."
