During his travels, Eadric one day found himself in the province of Wachia's capital city of Gorven with his companions. Having traced a deadly necromancer to the city, Eadric and his party were on high alert for signs of the undead.

Unfortunately, the adventurers found it nearly impossible to track the necromancer in such a large city, full of countless hidden nooks and crannies to hide in. About a week into their stay, they awoke to screams during the late hours of the night. With little time to prepare and fueled by raw adrenaline, Eadric and his friends sprung to action - returning the undead swarm to the graves they came from. As they cracked skeleton bones and sliced through zombie flesh, they figured out that the horde was cutting through the city to get to the Lord's small castle residence in the heart of Gorven.

The heroes scrambled to catch up with the horde, finding a broken portcullis just beyond the piles of mutilated soldiers that lay outside the castle walls. Rushing in towards the screams, the adventurers split their attention between what was ahead and what was behind, hoping to make sure none of the casualties rose to attack.

Joined by some surviving guards, the party fought their way through the swarms that had invaded the manor within the castle walls. They were fortunate to find the court wizard Maragon still well and alive, and he helped to counter the necromancer's magic as they slaughtered the undead intruders.

Hearing a loud roar, followed shortly by the clanging of swords and a woman's scream, Eadric split from the group with Maragon to investigate. They found a room to which the door had been smashed off it's hinges - inside stood a hulking zombified monstrosity wielding a sword taller than a man. Corpses littered the room, and Eadric watched as the Lord narrowly avoided the monster's swing and retaliated with a weak counterattack. Eadric and Maragon threw magic at the beast, redirecting it's attention to them.
